Sidecar sideline

Motor-cycle sidecars were once a popular, and cheap, means of transport. They all but disappeared with the advent of the mini-car. However, Mr Alastair Sabiston, the managing director of Sabiston’s Motorcycles, Ltd, suspects that the'r popularity might be about to return. He is considering devot-

ing a small part of his business to manufacturing sidecars. Already, he has two orders, and more are expected. One of the reasons fee the interest in sidecars is the advent of earless days. Motor-cycles are exempt. Also, there is still no cheaper means of carrying more than two people. Sabiston Motorcycles will also do a small amount of light engineering, manufacturing such items as metal carriers and tow bars.
