Vote for union
The Canterbury Storemen and Packers’ Union completed its ballot on union membership yesterday with a meeting in Christchurch. The union’s secretary (Mr P. E. Piesse) said that the vote in favour of retaining the unqualified preference clause in awards was 92.7 per cent. About 40 per cent of the 2000 members voted.
