Big dairy contract
PA Wellington The Dairy Board has renegotiated a deal worth an estimated $l5 million a year to supply Iraq with dairy products. New Zealand will supply 12,000 to 13,000 tonnes of butter, milkfat, cheese and milkpowders to Iraq for each of the next five years. At present prices, the value of the contract is about $l5 million a year, the board said.
For the last five years the board has had an agreement with Iraq’s State organisation for dairy products, under which New Zealand has supplied practically all Iraq’s dairy produce inn ports. A Dairy Board delega« tion had visited Iraq and renegotiated the contract.
