School music contest
Three groups from Christchurch Girls’. High School
will be among the competitors in the 1979 Wales Bank School Music Contest in Wellington tomorrow. The Christchurch Girls’ High School String Orchestra is one of two groups chosen in the semi-finals to compete in the large-group section of the instrumental performance contest.
The Shalom Trio is one of four finalists in the, smaligroup section, and the Girls’ High School Singers are one of two finalists in the vocal performance section. More than 2000 pupils throughout New Zealand took part in the 12 district finals this year.
