University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA PORT MORESBY! LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN PSYCHOLOGY APPLICATIONS are invited for the above position. Applicants should have a strong and broad background in general experimental psychology and research design, with wide interests and experience. The candidate will also be expected to supervise and advise some of the Department’s small number of Honours and higher degree students. SALARY: SENIOR LECTURER: K15J50 per annum. THE UNIVERSITY OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA POST VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND COMMERCE DEPT GOROKA TEACHERS’ COLLEGE THE Post Vocational Training and Commercial Studies department at Goroka Teachers College runs one year courses which prepares qualified Agriculture, Secretarial and Technical students to teach in high school, vocational centres and technical colleges. LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER IN AGRICULTURE EDUCATION The successful candidate should have an interest in Agricultural Science and Horticulture and prepared to contribute to the education theory course. Qualifications: (a) Professional qualification or degree in Agriculture or a related science. A higher degree would be an advantage, (b) A professional qualification in teaching. The appointee will be a teacher with experience in school or college and additional experience in teacher education. LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the technical teaching method component of the course to a wide variety of tradesmen and technicians and to teach basic mathematics. „ „ Qualifications.—(a) Professional qualification or degree in a technological subject. A higher degree would be an advantage. (The successful applicant will probably be qualified in an engineering field), (b) A professional qualification in teaching. LECTURER IN SECRETARIAL STUDIES The successful candidate wiil be responsible for teaching the secretarial teaching method component of the course and to contribute to the English language skills course. Qualifications.—(a) Professional qualifications or degree in Secretarial subjects, (b) A Professional qualification in teaching. The appointee will be a teacher of secretarial subjects with experience in a Technical/Secretarial college and in teacher education. Business experience would be an advantage. LECTURER IN AGRICULTURE AND COMMERCE The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Agriculture and Commerce teaching method courses and to assist m education method courses as reQualifications.—(a) A Professional qualification or degree in an appropriate subject, (b) A Professional qualification in teaching. The appointee wiil be an experienced teacher of Agriculture and Commerce and have experience in teacher education. Salaries: Senior Lecturer: Kia,lso per annum. Lecturer Grade II: K 13,300 per annum.
