Protest drive by milk vendors

PA Auckland An unusual truck convoy made its way through central Auckland yesterday. Twenty-eight milk vendors drove along Queen Street at noon to protest against the suggested in-

troduction of cartoned milk to New Zealand. The National Union of Milk Vendors says the introduction of cartoned milk would raise the price and eventually would mean the end of home milk deliveries. The introduction of chocolate-flavoured milk

in cartons would be the first step towards the Salq of ordinary cartoned milk in supermarkets. The secretary of the Auckland branch (Mr D, Jennings) said that if cartoned mUk was introduced, six million cartons a week would be used.
