Jobs found for nurses
PA Invercargill A number of enrolled nurses — registered community nurses — from Southland Hospital in Invercargill who were to have been sent on leave without pay because the hospital could no longer afford them have been given employment in Dunedin.
Twenty-two nurses had been told by the Southland Hospital Board that it could no longer employ them and stay within its budget. The Chief Nursing Officer in Invercargill (Miss J. G. Speirs) said the board was trying to find employment for the nurses in other areas. Eight have found jobs in Dunedin.
