Heart-part jars
PA Auckland When New Zealand Glass stopped making one line of peanut butter jars the last people they expected to complain were heart valve transplant specialists at _ Green Lane Hospital, Auckland. But complain they did because the jars were exactly the right size for storing heart valves. The size of the jars is important because the
fluid the valves are stored in is extremely expensive. A bigger jar meant wasted fluid. However, all was not lost because New Zealand Glass made a small batch of jars for the hospital and another company, W. F. Tucker, Ltd, found a surplus supply of tops which it gave to the hospital. For the time being, at least, the hospital now has a ready supply of jars.
