Narrow win to Hurunui
The Hurunul seniors had a narrow 9-7 win against the Canterbury senior reserve representative team at Waiau on Tuesday. Hurunul scored first after 10 minutes when B. Black received the ball from a maul on the Canterbury line. The try was converted by K. Rowe. Just before the interval P. Gould kicked a penalty for Canterbury. After the break strong pressure from Canterbury eventually resulted In a try to L. Serena who scored after a midfield break made by himself.
Hurunul fought back but could not score, although du dog one of Its attacks it was awarded a penalty in front of the Canterbury goal-posts. J. Quigley kicked the gosl to give Hurunul its winning margin.
