Quiet N.Z. market uncertain

Although rises outnumbered falls by more than two to one yesterday, trading was quiet, and the N.Z.U.C. index eased 0.12 points to 341.48. N.Z. Forest Products was steady at 248 c on its highest parcel of shares, although smaller lots s old for lower prices. Vacation eased 7c to 70c after the directors said that the recent decline in tourist traffic to New Zealand had affected the company. Neil Holdings fell 3c to 42c after reporting a substantial drop in profits and passing its dividend. Interest in Hawkins Holdings also dropped, its shares falling 1c to 82c on small turnover.
