Appeal to M.P.s
PA Auckland The Temperance Alliance feels that a decrease in the consumption of alcohol at Bellamy’s would immeasurably improve the standard of debate in Parliament. The national president (Mr T. J. Quayle) made the comment in an address to the Auckland branch of the alliance.
Mr Quayle called on Parliamentarians to give deep and serious consideration to the alcohol crisis. “The time has arrived when our national leaders must set an example of moderation and self-sacri-fice, particularly if New Zealand is in the economic crisis we are led to believe,” he said.
