Racks for wool bales

The chairman of the Wool Board, Mr J. Clarke, watches as bales of wool are manoeuvred into racking in the board’s new store in Dunedin. The racking is a feature of the 157,800 sq. ft store,

which was opened recently. Together with a slight increase in roof height the racking has increased the wool capacity of the store from 27,000 bales to 38,000 bales. Bales are stored eight high

in the racks, which have not previously been used on such a scale. Seven stores lately used by the board in the Dunedin area will be replaced by the new $2.3M Structure.
