Tough soccer draw for Woolston

Woolston W.M.C. will meet the powerful Mount Wellington side in Auckland on August 4 in an Adidas Chatham Cup soccer semifinal. The other semi-final will be between the winner of the Wellington Diamond United v. Stop Out quarter-final and Hanimex United in Wellington. The all-Wellington quarter-final will be played tomorrow.
Woolston reached the semi-finals with a win on penalties over Trans Tours United last week-end while the Mount demolished Manurewa, the defending Cup holder, 5-0. Woolston look poised to return to the Rothmans League next year after being relegated at the end of last season. At present it is
lin third place on the Midlands Coachlines League table but has games in hand over the other leading contenders, Rangers and Caversham. The Mount has won 14 of its 15 national league games this season and is a clear leader in the competition by a massive 10 points.
