Forecasts, trebles, doubles galore

I Forecast betting will be available for Riccarton patrons on each day of this year’s Grand National meeting. • The forecast will be run on race 10 each day. It requires bettors to select the [first and second horses in | the correct finishing order. | Riccarton is also specially [geared for trebles and [doubles at its winter carni- [ val. [ The Christchurch Hunt [meeting next week will not] [have forecast betting, but [there will be three course ■trebles, three course doubles, [one on and off-course [ double, and quinellas on all races.
The Canterbury Jockey Club will stage three trebles and six doubles on each of its programmes, besides the forecast. There will also bo quinellas on all races. The doubles sold throughout the day will be “true’' doubles — ’ both first and second legs must be purchased at the one time. Trebles bettors must also purchase the first two legs simultaneously. For doubles and trebles there will be a special “field only’’ window available at the end of the doubles totalisator, In future doubles, trebles, and forecasts will be sold from the betting floor of the members stand in addition to the doubles totalisator house.
