Early snow
More than 60cm. (2ft) of powder snow on a firm base has opened the 'Tasman Glacier for ski-ing three months earlier than last year.
Captain M. R. Falconer, chief pilot of Mount Cook Skiplanes, reported that conditions were “excellent.” j
The skiplanes are used to ferry skiers to the top of the glacier’s Bkm run.
