Kerikeri
Kerikeri, centre of the Bay’s citrus growing area, is 30 minutes by road from Paihia. Points of interest include Kemp House (built in 1822) the oldest building in New Zealand; Stone Store and museum (1833); Rewa’s Maori Village; the Peacock Garden which is also a replica Maori village, but with the added attractions of aviaries, waterfall, and playground; and a variety of arts and crafts shops.
