Leopard and Conray, two 1 of the earliest workers, finished 800 m on terms in 51.45. Miss Bid recorded 53.45, Scotch Nip and Ben Ahee 5235, and Pompous Prince 51s when finishing clear of Elysian Light. Rockford, whose recent racing should have fitted him I for a Riccarton campaign, icame up with 51.6 s for his 1800 m and Firpo followed in 535. Palanga finished a run over six hurdles clear of Try Two, which ran along easily in a small gap throughout. Borodino started with them but was pulled out after jumping four flights satisfactorily.
