Jawbone identified

The human jawbone found last month on Carters Beach, Westport, has been identified as that of the missing Australian skydiver, John Schofield, aged 22. Mr Schofield, of Victoria Park, Perth, disappeared in

the sea about 200 metres off Carters Beach during a skydiving exhibition on the afternoon of June 2. Extensive searches found no trace of his body or his parachute. The jawbone was found on June 16. It was sent to Australia for identification.
