Assistance for film
Wellington reporter A thriller with a Rotorua setting is the scene for a new feature film for which the Film Commission has made a script development advance of $3OOO. The film will be called “Now Is The Hour” and is being developed jointly by the director, David Blyth (“Angel. Mine”), • the writer, Keith Aberdeen (“Middle Age Spread”), and the actor, lan Watkin. “Now Is The Hour” will be set in and about Rotorua, and its background of the international tourist industry will be used for a story of different levels of exploitation, involving a New Zealand policeman, a Japanese industrialist, and a Maori gang.
