Two Canty teams at championships
Canterbury will be represented by two teams at the Hertz national inter-provin-cial men’s basketball championships in September. The championships will be held at Cowles Stadium from September 4-8. However the absence, for financial reasons, of Auckland, Napier, North Shore and Panmure, is likely to take some of the gloss out of the event.
Of the 16 teams, eight ad from the North Island ani seven from the South Island The sixteenth team is thi New Zealand Combined Sei vices. The full list of competing teams is: Dannevirke, Ham ilton, Hawera, Hutt Valley Palmerston North, Porirua Wellington, Whangerei, Bui ler, Canterbury A and B Nelson, Otago, South Canter bury, Southland and Ne 4 Zealand Combined Services.
