Wildlife ‘‘slaughtered’
Elephants, lions, rhinos and other wildlife were slaughtered wholesale in Uganda’s game parks during the eight-year-dictatorship of Idi Amin, a Government conservation expert has said. Poaching was still going on, and a huge effort was needed to save the survivors, said Paul Tampukeede, acting, director of national parks. — Kampala.
