COMPUTER TECHNICAL OFFICER COMPUTER SERVICES DIVISION, WELLINGTON VACANCY 4799 Computer Services Division support a wide range of computer terminals in Government Departments throughout New Zealand./ The computer terminals are linked via communication systems to discrete computer networks, employing large mainframe computers to process the particular departmental work. The Technical Services Section of Computer Services Division install and maintain these networks. The section also provides a Research and Design Facility, and is actively engaged in microprocessor development. Assistance will be given for the successful applicant to study for the New Zealand Certificate in Computer Technology. The opportunity is also provided for staff to attend polytechnic and other courses on data communications, computer systems, microprocessors and digital techniques. The person that we seek will have at least two years experience in the servicing of analogue or digital devices, and have a keen interest in communications, micro processor applications and digital technology.
