Isitive reaction to a urine testj (taken after he won the Tat-' tersall's Cup at Eagle Farm (on June 30. I The urine sample is report-| ed to have shown traces of| Theobromine, an ingredient 1 contained in a commercial! preparation known as Wynn’s Blue Diuretic Balls. Leading turf writer Bert Lillye, writing in yesterday's Sidney Morning Herald, says Didham is likely to be fined about $2OO and Big Skipper will be allowed to run on Saturday. Australian trainers have been warned .not to use the diuretic balls within 144 hours of a race and according to Lillye Stewards have I shown a sympathetic attitude
to tiie administration of the preparation. In the latest Doomben Cup markets. Big Skipper is the >7/1 fourth favourite. The jfour-year-old Mellay Entire was penalised 2kg for his Tattersail’s Cup win. but will still be required to carry only 52.5 kg. which is 4 skg ibelow weight-for-age. Didham’s jockey son ("Midge” had decided to stay ’in Melbourne on Saturday and Gary Palmer, who rode Big Skipper at Eagle Farm, iwill retain the mount on SatI urday. Favourite for the Cup isi the three-year-old New Zea- ( land-bred colt He’ll Do. which was runner-up to Double! Century in the Q.T.C. Grand Prix and Queensland Derby. He is at 3/1. New Zealand-breds Mont D’or and Waitangirua are both expected to be strongly supported and Mr Ay Bee. the topweight at 55kg, is rated at 10/1. The last New Zealand-bred to win the cup was Lord Nelson six years ago.
