Christchurch Central seat
Sir, — - I agree with A. V. Kennedy (July 9). As the letter points out, it.is essential, if Labour wants support, including mine and that of many people to whom I have spoken, that it selects a candidate for the Christchurch Central by-election. It is not necessary or at all advisable in my opinion for the Labour Party to consider someone outside Christchurch. I support A. V. Kennedy when he suggests it is time for someone fresh, someone not previously tainted by exposure, someone who will continue to give support for local issues. — Yours, etc., R. J. JONES. July 9, 1979.
