Special correspondent Wellington Trentham’s new grej hurdles are to have thf sighter board across the bod tom painted white. This modification will b< ready in time for racing to morrow. The prompt action by th) Wellington Racing Clu| officials comes after one oi two grumbles by visiting horsemen about the fence) on Saturday, but matted really came to a head at th track yesterday morning. There was a school arouni the hurdle track involvini three runners, Pan Jel Emmett’s Luck and Todsill Only Todsill was left stand ing after about a mile. Emmett’s Luck went at th first fence by the top of th straight. He did not even ris at the fence, crashed straigh through it and dumped hi rider, the experienced Mart Latham. Todsill and Pan Je continued carefully, but Pa Jet clipped the top of th fence near the 1400 m mart and dropped his rider, Chri Plowman. Todsill was pulls up almost straight away.
