N.Z. Steel
The New Zealand Governt.,ent has sold a further 1,040,000 shares in New Zealand Steel, Limited, says the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon).
The shares were sold to f. ..ncial institutions, by private placement, in a similar manner to . the New Zealand Steel shares sold in 1976, last year, and earlier this year. Mr Muldoon says that the sales continued the Government’s policy of reducing its shareholding in companies which had reached the stage where heavy Government involvement was no longer necessary.
