Action on dam fails
PA Dunedin A Supreme Court action by land-owners in the Cromwell Gorge to have work stopped on the Clyde high dam has failed. In a reserved judgment released in Dunedin yesterday, Mr Justice Somers dismissed an action by eight landowners seeking a declaration that certain work being done by the Ministry of Works and Development was without legal justification or excuse, or was unlawful. The land-owners had also sought a declaration that work should cease pending the hearing of certain legal proceedings.
