$2M church budget
The Presbyterian Church will spend more than $2 million in New Zealand and overseas this year.
Presbyterians have been a ked to increase their donations 13.5 per cent this year. The money will be used to support parishes which cannot afford the full stipend of their minister, for theological students’ bursaries, for theological college staff
[salaries, and for mission work in the Pacific and [South-East Asia. The basic stipend for ministers was increased from $7700 to $8940 from yesterday. Assistant ministers will also get more money. Bursary allowances for theological students were also increased from yesterday. A single student will get $1747 and a married student $2912.
