Trout fishing in Avon
Sir, — In reply to J. Hanlon's letter re children trout fishing (June 28) I must say I was angry that anyone should suggest that the Avon River should be exempt from such a spoil. Surely there are enough regulations now, I think it is ludicrous to complain about young people enjoying their recreation so close to home instead of maybe indulging in vandalism or running the streets. In fact, nothing would please me more than to see the Acclimatisation Society put more trout in the Avon River for as many children as possible. —Yours, etc., J. P. O’KEEFE, June 28, 1979.
