Flood fear
Jamaicans were gripped in fear yesterday after being told more storms would follow' the worst floods in the island’s history. About 40,000 of Jamaica’s two million population have been affected by the floods, mainly on the west of the island and as well as the 32 reported dead a further 12 are missing. — Kingston. Five for trial Five Ugandans, including a former Minister, have been extradited from neighbouring Kenya to face charges in Ugandan courts, Ugandan radio has reported. The radio, monitored in Nairobi, quoted the Ugandan Interior Minister (Mr Lutakome Kayira) as saying the five, including Idi Amin's former Commerce and Industry Minister, Brigadier Dusman'Sabuni, would appear in court in Kampala today for a formal remand. — Nairobi. .

Afghan rebels have killed more than 10,000 Soviet military “advisers,” including three generals, in the past year, an Afghani rebel leader has claimed in Teheran. Hodjatoleslam (religious leader) Mir Hussein Sadeghi said that only Soviet aid preserved the regime of President Nur Mohammed Taraki, now faced by a nationwide Islamic rebellion.—Teheran.
