Nod for health centre
The establishment of a health centre in Parklands has been approved by the Health Department. The Medical Officer of Health in Christchurch (Dr L. F. Jepson) said in a letter to the institutions committee of the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday that the district practice advisory group had approved the health centre application. Dr J. Lyftogt has a solo practice in the area at present. “Bearing in mind the nec-
essary details of site acquisitions, town planning, and the size of the development, it is agreed that by the time the centre was in fact built there would be two doctors to service the area,” Dr Jepson said. He said that other community services, such as a dental surgeon, plunket nurse, and public health nurses, as well as physiotherapy, and social workers, would probably be eager to have space in the proposed centre.
