Paua charges
Two Christchurch men who caught 174 undersized paua were convicted and fined $l5O when they appeared before Mr N. C. Jaine. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Kaikoura.
Raymond Arthur Young and Michael Hoimes were also fined $lOO each on charges of taking more than 20 paua each in one day. They had 201 paua in their possession. When interviewed by a Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries inspector, they admitted the offences and said the paua were for their own use.
