Turf Lord and Aramis will be popular

Nelson Aramis and I urf I,ord will be popular with betters in the Railway Handicap, the first leg of the I .A.B. treble on the second day of the Nelson Trotting Club’s winter meeting at Richmond Park today.

Both raced unluckily on the first day of the meeting.; Aramis was checked early and made up ground wide, out for fourth to The Pirate,! Hulabaloo and Turf Lord, only half-heads separating the second, third and fourth runners. Turf Lord was equally as; impressive, as he lost I ground early and came fast trom the tail of the field at the straight entrance.; Aramis drew the second, line on Saturday, but today he comes in at No. 3, which must enhance his prospects. I Outasight, to b< driven ths time by his trainer, Trevor Thomas, made up) ground for fourth to Stop-' watch on Saturday. He could be harder to beat this time. J Followers of the de Filippi: brothers will also be in with: a chance. Michael de Filippi will drive Hulabaloo this: time and she will be a top: prospect after her first-day second. Colin will handle Chance Rosette, which did quite well for eighth behind Follow Up on Saturday after, starting slowly from the sec-: ond line. The Kirby’s Handicap, the: second leg of the T.A.B. double, will be the middle leg of the treble. Clare Armbro, True Peterson and Reddition look leading prospects. The final event, the Wakatu Handicap, looks a real puzzler. Smart Move just failed to get to Tigerade on! Saturday, but will have toj contend with an extra 800 m. The task should be within his capabilities. Tough Girl, the favourite: for Saturday’s 2400 m race, broke badly not long after: the start, with her driver,! Peter Jones, telling the, stipendiary' stewards later that he had difficulty controlling her as a result of the grips on the reins breaking. She showed speed once she did settle and not surprisingly dropped out to ninth in the straight. She is a smart three-year-old and could match most in this event. Tigerade is a noted stayei and even from 20m he must be respected, while bold runs are expected from Gerry’s Girl, Ponderosa) Ginge, Red Boa, and Tuflane.'
