TV at Lancaster Park
Sir,—With regard to the television stand on the ground on the embankment side of the field during the Canterbury-Queensland game, I would like to ask the following: (1) How necessary is it to have it on the ground where it partly obscures the view of hundreds of spectators low down on the terraces; and (2), Is this a precedent for future games? Would the appropriate authority care to comment? —Yours, etc., M. CLARK.
June 10, 1979. [Mr Keith McEwen, executive producer, TVI sports, replies: “(1) In order to effect coverage of the highest standard, it is necessary to have the ground camera slightly elevated. (2) As the placement of the camera position in question has been agreed after discussion with the Canterbury Rugby Football Union, it is not expected that any change will be made for future occasions.”]
