No space for partridge?
Several enormous pears have come from the back garden of Mr Jack Locke, an Avon Loop resident who lives in Oxford Terrace. The biggest weighs Ikg, according to Mr Locke, and were grown organically without the aid of artificial fertiliisers.
Mr Locke said yesterday that the pear tree they came from had six varieties of pears on it. AU were grafted on by Mr Dave Cave. The big pears would probably be used in a pie. “They’re mainly for cooking,” he said,
