The New Zealand sharemarket closed on a firm note in moderately actixe trading yesterday. The number of healthy profit reports from ma.joi companies and the chance that export-oriented companies will jeneht from next Thursday’s Budget bolstered sales. Fletcher improved pc to 230 c on its higher profit and dividend, while U.E.B. also gained on its latest result. Other market leaders were carried along in the o-eneral upsurge.
