$5000 BULL TO CHEVIOT
North Canterbury breeders J. D. Caldwell and P. Bush, were buyers of one of the highest priced bulls . at the annual production sale of the Westholm Polled Hereford stud at Tapanui in West Otago this month. They paid $5OOO for one of the 29 rising two-year-old bulls that were sold. Hakataramea station in
South Canterbury also made purchases at $2400,.$l6OO and $9OO, Rollesby station bought two at $2OOO each and Bluecliffs station one at $lOOO.
Mangatu blocks (Gisborne) had the distinction of paying the highest price — $7OOO — and for 29 ranging from $lOOO upwards the average was $2179.31.
