Job well done

The chairman of the Canterbury Rugby Union’s centennial committee, Mr J. O. Hattersley, was complimented highly on a job well done when the union’s management committee last evening reviewed its centennial celebrations. “We all owe a big debt to Mr Hattersley,” said the chairman.

Thomas. “He has worked for three yean on this project and that the centenary was such a success is a tribute to his skill and his effort.” In reply, Mr Hattersley said that from time to time he had had a few anxious moments, but everything had turned out well and during the week itself he had had nothing to do. “I was able to sit back and enjoy it and for this I must thank all the people, particular!-' those on this union,. who rendered some wonderful assistance. ’ It was a week to remember and I don’t think anyone was disappointed. “I would like to thank all the news media and the sponthose who helped, Individuals, sors.
