N.Z. bowler seventh
NZPA London The New Zealand bowler, Phil Skoglund. finished only seventh in the singles of the annual World Masters tournament in Worthing, West Sussex, yesterday. Earlier in the week he had finished in second place in the pairs competition. The matches were held in conjunction with the singles tournament, but more as exhibition matches between pairs of the overseas in-
vited bowlers and England players. Skoglund. five times the New Zealand singles champion in addition to other national titles, told NZPA yesterday he was “rather disappointed’ 1 with the singles result but pleased with his pairs result. He won a silver medal for his success. The singles title was won by the favourite, Britain’s David Bryant, for the second year in succession. He beat Scotland’s David McGill, 21-11, in the final.
