Situations Vacant ELECTRONICS DESIGN ENGINEER OUR COMPANY is looking to employ an Electronics Design Engineer to join our engineering team at Napier. The company is involved in a number of projects ranging from new product development through to systems design. The nature of the work involves all stages of engineering from initial prototype design through to preparation of production, and operating specifications. The successful applicant would be required to undertake the design of low power digital and analogue circuitry as well as high power electronic and electrical circuits using “state of art” techniques. We envisage that the most suitable applicant will be a self-motivated person in the 25 to 35 year age group with three to four years industrial experience. Suitable qualifications would be 8.E., N.Z.C.E., or equivalent tertiary’ education. A practical knowledge of heavy electrical practice W'ould be an advantage. Under the direction of the Research Station Manager, the Field Research Officer undertakes field trials to produce data for the pre-commercial evaluation of potential agricultural chemicals. The principal duties involved are: 1. Conducting, maintaining, evaluating and reporting on the field trial programme. 2. Running and maintaining farm vehicles and equipment. 3. Liaising with company personnel, and occasionally with Government departments and the local farming community. The job is basically technical in nature, with some associated administrative and supervisory duties. The work content would suit a graduate in agricultural science with a leaning towards agronomy, with probably no more than two years post graduate experience.
