Record price for gold in London
NZPA-Reuter London The price of gold reached a record 5U5282.40 an ounce at the morning price-setting session on the London bullion market on Monday. Gold has been hitting record prices in recent weeks because of fears about prospects of world-wide inflation, and oil shortages. Despite the flight into gold. the United States dollar and other major paper currencies, were fairly firm on the world’s foreign exchange markets, as they have been during this latest period of high gold prices.
