Mr Beetham’s position
Sir, — In supporting John J. Forster’s letter (June 7) I would suggest that your correspondents, A. T. Edwards and Frank Freeman, who, in May, challenged me to name a replacement for our Prime Minister, take an in-depth look at Mr Bruce Beetham. This man’s political potential impressed me, when, as a Mayor of Hamilton, he spoke in Christchurch late in 1976. With such qualities as zeal and zest he now, in my view, brings a breath of fresh air to an otherwise beehive of drones. I will follow his political career with interest and hope that, in the not too distant future he will occupy the high office of Prime Minister of New Zealand. — Yours, etc., MARGARET MANNING. June 8, 1979.
