Taxi-cards scheme
PA Wellington Taxi-users may soon be able to use credit cards. A private company, Taxi Card, Ltd. has been formed to set up and run a credit and debit card system. It is believed that regular taxi-users could use their cards instead of the present taxi chits. The driver would imprint the card, and the user would be charged later. Chits, commonly used by companies for staff travelling, are expected to be retained.
