Carless days
Sir., — So the Government, in its infinite wisdom, is about to issue earless day stickers, and we are allowed, democratically, to choose which day we will not be able to use our cars. What would happen, I wonder, if all New Zealanders decided to opt for either Friday or Monday? Would it be possible to have only a fourday working week and create for ourselves more leisure time in our gardens etc. What sort of overseas funds would then be saved by this loss of freedom? Maybe it is an idea worth considering? —Yours, etc., A. WOOD, Twizel. May 22, 1979.
