Handy young player

It is comforting for the Sydenham senior rugby team to have such a handy player as Brent Nicholl in the squad this season. Last Saturday the 18-year-old Nicholl filled in at full-back for the side’s leading scorer, Ken Taylor, who was ill. Although most of his games this year have been on the wing, Nicholl gave a meritorious display in

his new position and capped the performance by kicking three penalty goals. The versatile young player is in his first season of senior football. Last year he was in the Cashmere High School’s first XV, and was called in to play one match in Taylor’s absence when Sydenham met Suburbs in the D.C.L. Shield competition.
