Carless-day exemptions
PA Wellington People seeking carlessday exemption stickers should apply through the Post Office, said the Acting Minister of Energy (Mr Templeton) yesterday. He was commenting on news reports that confusion existed over whether the Post Office or the Ministry of Energy would handle exemptions.
“Application forms for exemption stickers should be obtained from and completed at the Post Office,” Mr Templeton said. “Where it is clear that the applicant is entitled to an exemption, a sticker will be posted to him or her in due course. “If the application raises some doubt, the
Post Office will tell the applicant to write to the Minister of Energy. If the Ministry, after considering the case, approves the application. it will either send the applicant an exempt sticker or a letter which the applicant can present to the Post Office to enable the Post Office to issue an exempt sticker.”
