The Institute carries out applied research and extension in various fields of agricultural engineering and appointees would be required to conduct research programmes, develop extension information and service the Institute s requirements in their respective fields. The work in Farm Buildings and Structures will include both structural and functional aspects of farm buildings, bridges, shelter fences, glasshouses and product storage. The position would suit a registered civil engineer with experience in building design and construction. Experience of heating and ventilation would be an advantage. The work in Agricultural Waste Management will nvolve research into all aspects of farm waste disposal and re-utilisation. Systems including lagoon treatment, pumping and spraying dairy and other animal wastes, solids separation from n.anure and odour and pollution control. Experience in public health or waste water engineering would be an advantage.
