Under the direction of the Research Station Manager, the Field Research Officer undertakes field trials to produce data for the pre-commercial evaluation of potential agricultural chemicals. The principal duties involved are: 1. Conducting, maintaining, evaluating and reporting on the fieid trial programme. 2. Running and maintaining farm vehicles and equipment. 3. Liaising with company personnel, and occasionally with Government departments and the local farming community. The job is basically technical in nature, with some associated administrative and supervisory duties. The work content would suit a graduate in agricultural science with a leaning towards agronomy, with probably no more than two years post graduate experience. Opportunities for increased technical and supervisory responsibilities are available within a relatively short period of time to those demonstrating potential.
