Hospital post filled
The principal nurse of an Invercargill private hospital will head the Southern Cross Trust Hospital when it changes from Calvary control on June 1. Mrs Lois Kritos, who was chosen from a big field of applicants, is at present matron of the Park Trust Hospital, a 30-bed non-profit sudgical hospital in Invercargill, a post she has held since 1974. Before moving to Invercargill she worked at Cherry Farm Hospital and in various units of Dunedin Hospital. Mrs Kritos also spent three years as matron of the Anglican Children’s Home at Dunedin, and gained operating theatre experience at Wakari Hospital and Chalet Private Hospital. She is married with four children, and plays an active part in the work of the Society for the Intellectually Handicapped. Mrs Kritos will be in the hospital at the change on June 1, but will not take up full-time duties until later in June. In the interim period, Mrss M. Bratty, principal nurse of the Lister Trust Hospital, Auckland, will act in a temporary capacity. All other senior nursing posts at the Southern Cross Trust Hospital will be filled from the present lay staff at Calvary.
