PA Dunedin The homicide inquiry into the death of Mrs Hilary Maxine Tiddy, of Oamaru, has ended with the police convinced no other person was involved in her death. The commander of the Timaru police district, Superintendent A. C. Lambert, said that inquiries had been completed. “Reports from police officers, a pathologist, a D.S.I.R. scientist, and a fingerprint expert have
been studied,” he said “The police are satisfied that no other person was involved in the death of Mrs Tiddy.” A report would be made to the Coroner and a hearing to establish the cause of death would be held at a later date. Mrs Tiddy, aged 32, was found dead with throat injuries on the stairway of her home in Holmes Street, Oamaru, on May 10. A blood-stained knife was nearby.
